Indonesia's planned commodity exchange likely to cover palm oil, nickel, coal
JAKARTA (Aug 18): Indonesia's planned exchange for "mineral and strategic commodities" will likely include palm oil, nickel and coal, a presidential spokesperson said as the government makes preparations to launch the bourse on Jan 1.
Indonesia is preparing to have a Strategic Minerals and Commodities Exchange starting January 1, 2027. The presence of this exchange is considered to be an important step so that Indonesia is no longer just a country that follows mineral prices on the global market.
President Prabowo Subianto has proposed a candidate for the Chief Executive Supervisory Board of the Mineral and Strategic Commodities Exchange (OJK) to the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI).
