A massive landslide in Indonesia has killed at least 17 people and the death toll is expected to rise. A major search operation is underway to find about 80 people missing after the incident. “The ground is still unstable,” said Muhammad Ali, the chief of staff of the navy.
The avalanche, which occurred on Saturday, severely damaged more than fifty houses and forced the evacuation of more than 650 people, added the local disaster management agency.
There are still dozens missing, and the number of victims has to increase.
