India's infrastructure output grew 5.4% year-on-year in July 2026. This growth moderated from the revised 6% expansion recorded in June. The July figure shows a 0.6 percentage-point slowdown from the previous month. Data covers nine key infrastructure sectors under the revamped Index of Core Industries. The new series uses 2022-23 as its base year.
India's core infrastructure sectors see good growth in 2026 July: Eight core infrastructure sectors, which account for 40% of India's IIP index, grew by 5.4% in July. Petroleum refinery, power, steel, coal, crude oil, natural gas, cement, fertilizers, are the core infrastructure sectors. This year (April to July) these sectors have grown by 4.3%.
