The trials will take place on a stretch of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad corridor, where construction work is nearing completion. Once testing concludes, the service will be thrown open to commuters within two to four months.
Following the Surat-Bilimora section of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Corridor, civil construction on the Vapi-Surat section is expected to be completed by December 2026. The first coach for testing has already been rolled out. The first high-speed rail service on the 508-kilometer corridor is expected to begin in August 2027.
