Indiana Attorney General Launches IN Fuel Watch Portal
The IN Fuel Watch site lets users compare prices statewide and shows the cheapest gas at $3.27 a gallon, officials said.
- On Tuesday, Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita launched IN Fuel Watch, an online portal tracking real-time gas prices at more than 4,600 stations statewide. The site allows drivers to filter results by price, city, or name.
- Gov. Mike Braun announced a 30-day gas tax holiday earlier this month to provide relief, saving drivers roughly $50 million. The portal helps the state monitor whether retailers pass these savings to consumers.
- The website uses color-coded indicators marking green for stations that dropped prices more than 17 cents below April 8 levels. Chief Technology Officer Sreenath Bangaru said the tool offers "real-time transparency" and sends a "clear message to retailers."
- Rokita warned his office will enforce the Deceptive Consumer Sales Act if stations charge "unconscionable prices." Anyone suspecting price gouging can file a complaint with the Consumer Protection Division at indianaconsumer.com.
- The state will conduct a 30-day review after the suspension, while drivers continue paying approximately 72.6 cents per gallon in combined taxes. The State Gasoline Excise Tax of 36 cents remains fixed through June 30, 2026.
