Indian Man Used AI-Generated MAGA Influencer to Scam Men on Social Media

The account drew 10,000 followers in a month and brought in a few thousand dollars monthly through Fanvue subscriptions and MAGA-themed merchandise, WIRED reported.

  • An investigation has revealed that a 22-year-old medical student from North India, identified by the pseudonym "Sam," successfully built a viral, AI-generated MAGA influencer named Emily Hart to fund his education.
  • The creator turned to AI-generated content after failed attempts to make money through YouTube shorts and study notes. He sought to fund his medical licensing fees and eventual move to the United States.
  • "Sam" claimed he used Google Gemini for niche advice; according to him, the tool suggested that conservative audiences, particularly older men in the U.S., possess higher disposable income and are more loyal, which he described as a "cheat code" for rapid growth.
  • Within a month, the account gained over 10,000 followers and millions of views. The student monetized this traffic by funneling followers to a Fansly account, where men paid to chat with the persona and receive AI-generated "intimate" content.
  • Instagram eventually banned the account in February 2026 for "fraudulent activity." While the creator expressed no remorse—labeling his audience "super dumb"—experts warn that such realistic AI personas are becoming a major source of financial exploitation and political misinformation.
