- Major acquisitions include reviving the Rs 44,000 crore Mine Counter Measure Vessels program previously shelved, along with procurements of advanced naval artillery mounts, autonomous underwater vessels, armored recovery machines, electronic warfare equipment, a unified inventory management system, and indigenous Quick Reaction Surface-to-Air Missile systems.
- The Ministry of Defence indicated that these acquisitions will enhance operational flexibility, strengthen aerial defense capabilities, improve logistics efficiency, and reduce vulnerabilities to naval and commercial vessels, while promoting domestic innovation and advancing strategic self-reliance.
- This acquisition drive advances India's goals of defence self-reliance, technological sovereignty, employment generation, and faster logistics and operational readiness through IDDM systems.
