India reassures Nepali students after suicide sparked protest

More than 500 Nepali students were evicted from Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology in Bhubaneswar after the alleged suicide of a Nepali student, prompting protests for justice and demands for arrest.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police for Bhubaneswar, Pinak Mishra, stated they rushed to the hostel to calm the agitated students following the incident.
Nepal's Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli announced that the embassy in New Delhi is providing support to affected students and offered options for them to return home or stay in the hostel.
Following diplomatic pressure, the university reversed its decision and encouraged Nepali students to resume classes, acknowledging their importance in the relationship between India and Nepal.
