- Following last month's cancellation of the NEET due to leaked questions, the National Testing Agency reported that various Telegram channels were selling false question papers to scam aspirants.
- The Ministry of Education also ordered Telegram to disable its message-editing feature in India until June 30, as the NTA alleged the tool was used to fabricate misleading "paper leak" evidence.
- Officials labeled the ban a measure of "last resort" issued in the "interest of sovereignty and integrity of India," though the government "regrets the inconvenience caused" to legitimate users.
- Authorities have scheduled the re-examination for June 21, implementing strict security measures including Air Force transport for exam materials and isolating question paper setters to prevent further leaks.
