As the festive season approaches, the government has increased the sugar stockpiling limit for bulk consumers to 30 days. Previously, this limit was only 15 days' worth of consumption. Now, bulk consumers can only purchase additional stocks from sugar imported under the Advance Authorization Scheme (AAS) and Tariff Rate Quota (TRQ).
