According to the Minister of Labour and Solidarity Jean-Pierre Farandou, the indexation of pensions to inflation "100%" poses "an economic problem", at the time of budgetary rigour and calls for "solidarity of senior citizens".
Also asked about the sensitive question of possible deindexation of retirement pensions, the Minister of Labour suggested that he was in favour of it. "100% indexation on inflation [of retirement pensions], you apply it to 400 billion, it goes fast," he said.
The Minister of Labour, Jean-Pierre Farandou, calls for a review of the principle of automatic indexation of retirement pensions to inflation, a position which is taking place as the government seeks savings for the 2027 budget.
