KL Rahul, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant headline a strong 15-member India A squad for the three-match unofficial Test series against New Zealand A, with as many as 11 players in the group having Test experience.
Following the T20 series against the West Indies, the Indian team will tour New Zealand. The Indian team will play T20Is, ODIs, and Tests against New Zealand. Teams for all three formats of the tour are expected to be announced soon.
India's tour of New Zealand begins on October 22nd, where Team India will play five T20Is, five ODIs, and two Test matches. Additionally, the India 'A' team will play three unofficial Test matches. The BCCI is expected to hold a meeting soon to select these four teams.
India will tour New Zealand and it will be a big challenge for the selectors to select players for T20, ODI, Test and India A teams simultaneously. The selection process has been postponed to manage the workload of fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah and to get a fitness report from Prasid Krishna. The addition of new fast bowlers like Mukesh Kumar and Akash Deep is also expected.
