On Saturday 18 April 2026, the Palais des Congrès de Lomé became a diplomatic laboratory of a new kind for West Africa and its future. Under the auspices of the President of the Togolese Council, Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé, the Togolese Republic officially launched its "New Strategy for the Sahel", which covers the period 2026-2028.
