Malian army says its soldiers clashed with members of an armed separatist group in the country's north, resulting in the death of 10 separatists.
A convoy of the Malian army and the Africa Corps – the Russian army substitutes who succeeded the Wagner group – fell on Friday, 13 June in an ambush by the independent rebels of the FLA (Azawad Liberation Front) between Anefis and Aguelhoc, in the north of the country. The FLA claims a "great victory". The Malian army, after having denied any attack, claims to have taken over.
The Azawad Liberation Front, a Tuareg-dominated independenceist rebellion, attacked a convoy of the Malian army and its Russian substitutes in the Kidal region, killing "many people".
Tuareg independenceists and Malian armed forces supported by the Russian mercenaries of the Africa Corps clashed in the north of the country on Friday, 13 June. Both sides claim to have killed "enemy fighters", "but we still have to wait for definitive figures," said an elected member of the region.
