Hearst Connecticut Journalists Vote Overwhelmingly To Unionize, Call For Immediate Contract Talks
Journalists at Hearst Connecticut Media Group have voted decisively to unionize, forming The Connecticut NewsGuild under The NewsGuild-CWA. According to results announced Thursday by the National Labor Relations Board, 68 out of 85 counted ballots supported unionization — an overwhelming 80% majority.

Journalists working for Hearst Connecticut Media have voted overwhelmingly to join the Connecticut News Guild. The union plans to begin negotiations for a contract with Hearst as soon as possible. Hearst owns ten daily newspapers and 13 weeklies in Connecticut.
