"The Tour de France often makes only a polite visit to the Jura department," we read in Le Progrès in 1973. However, from Morez to Champagnole, passing through Dole or Lons to the famous coast of Rousses, the department's roads have always gathered thousands of spectators during the tour. The riders will again be in the Jura on Saturday 26 July, during a 184 km stage between Nantua and Pontarlier.
