France could become the second country in the world to adopt such restrictive legislation after Australia.
France has the right to ban the use of socialisation networks for children under 15 years of age, as provided for by a draft law adopted in the first reading of the French Parliament, confirmed by the European Commission in March.

"Yes, the French authorities have the right to establish a digital majority for their citizens," said a spokesperson for the European Commission, after the National Assembly voted on a text banning social networks for children under 15.
