Just over 400 schools will be closed on Friday, due to the blocking of high schools, the Minister of Education announced.
The Minister of Education will meet with the high school associations, as well as the parents' associations of pupils, the trade unions representing the staff and the elected representatives of the National Council for High School Life.
According to the Minister of National Education, Edouard Jeffre, 170 high school students and 65 school staff had been affected by protests since the beginning of the week, and Jeffre regretted that "the movement of lycées had been held hostage by highly aggressive groups" and expressed his intention to continue dialogue with trade unions and student organizations.
More than 400 high schools will not hold face-to-face classes on October 2 following mass protests and riots in France on October 1.
