It was a Class 3A football state championship rematch on Friday night, and Vale picked up a massive Eastern Oregon League victory over Burns. With four and a half minutes left in Friday’s game, the usually run-heavy Vikings dialed up the pass as Cal Johnson found Maddox Hartley for a 3-yard touchdown. The point after kick gave Vale the 21-18 lead that they would hold for the rest of the game at Burns High School.
