The trial of four police officers and two coastguard officers accused of delaying the rescue of a migrant boat in 2023, a shipwreck that claimed the lives of at least 94 people, including 35 children, began yesterday, Friday, in Crotone, southeastern Italy. It is the worst maritime migrant tragedy in Italy in the last decade, which occurred off the coast of Calabria and caused strong reactions at a political and social level.
