The inhabitants of the ancient settlement of Provadia Solnicata, in the territory of modern Bulgaria, could have cooked beer some 6,500 years ago, as shown by the archaeologists' found wheat grains, reported by the project team.
Bulgarian archaeologists found likely evidence of ancient brewing in the prehistoric settlement of Provadia Solnita, and found in one of the destroyed houses the remains of a porcupine wheat from which researchers believe the residents of that protocity were planning to prepare beer some 6,500 years ago, as reported on the site of the archaeological project team working on the monument.
