HAVANA, CUBA, JUL 11 – The U.S. imposed travel bans on Díaz-Canel and visa restrictions on Cuban officials amid documented arrests of 1,586 protesters linked to the 2021 uprising, the State Department said.
- The US imposed sanctions on Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel and other officials for human rights violations.
- The sanctioned officials include Defense Minister Álvaro López Miera and Interior Minister Lázaro Alberto Álvarez Casas.
- The US also added the 'Torre K' hotel in Havana to its restricted list to prevent funding the Cuban regime's repression.
