Immigrant who allegedly dodged ICE with Wisconsin judge’s help has been deported
Judge Hannah Dugan faces federal charges for allegedly helping Eduardo Flores-Ruiz evade arrest before his deportation after pleading guilty to illegal reentry.
- Friday, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security tweeted that Eduardo Flores-Ruiz, 31, was deported after pleading guilty earlier this year and receiving a time-served sentence on Nov. 6.
- U.S. immigration agents learned he was in the country illegally after Milwaukee County Jail submitted his fingerprints and planned to arrest him at an April 18 hearing.
- A federal grand jury indicted Milwaukee County Judge Hannah Dugan in May on obstruction and concealing charges, while her attorneys filed briefs citing Milwaukee County Chief Judge Carl Ashley's email two weeks before the arrest, and Dugan denies wrongdoing.
- The Department of Homeland Security framed Hannah Dugan's actions as taking `activist judge` to a new level, posting `Thanks to the brave men and women of ICE law enforcement, this criminal is OUT of our country.` on Friday.
