Imitation hand gun leads to bus being stopped in 100 Mile House
The passenger was arrested after officers found an imitation handgun and determined he was barred from possessing firearms or replicas, police said.
On Saturday, June 6, Sgt. Brian Lamb reported an arrest on a bus in 100 Mile House after police received reports of a man possessing "what appeared to be a handgun."
Officers stopped the bus in 100 Mile House and safely evacuated all passengers before moving in, allowing the male suspect—who was sleeping—to be taken into custody without incident.
Upon searching the suspect, officers located an imitation handgun on his person and determined he was under conditions prohibiting possession of firearms or imitation firearms.
The man was held in custody following his arrest for possession of a weapon and is scheduled to appear in court at a future date to face related charges.
RCMP in 100 Mile also responded to an impaired driver on Highway 97 on Saturday, June 6, and property thefts near Little Green Lake Road, reflecting broader enforcement activity in the region.
