Following the heat of the finale of the African Cup of Nations in January, eighteen Senegalese supporters and one French national were sentenced to rigorous prison sentences in the first instance. They are being tried on appeal this Monday.
Eighteen Senegalese supporters, arrested in Rabat at the end of the final of the African Cup of Nations last January, are to be tried on appeal on Monday 30 March. Their incarceration provokes the indignation of Senegal, a country that is also deposed from its title of champion of Africa.
The lawyer Mr. Patrick Kabou gave details of the steps taken in favour of Senegalese detainees currently held in Morocco. In a published message, Mr. Kabou said that he had acted on instructions from the Secretary of State to the Senegalese outsiders and the president of the Senegalese Football Federation.
