Cold Cases Make Progress with Help of SIUE Students Decades Later: ISP

ILLINOIS METRO EAST AREA, JUL 22 – Since 2022, SIUE students have assisted Illinois State Police in identifying three serial killer victims and charging a suspect in a 2011 cold case murder, officials said.

BELLEVILLE, Ill. - Officials announced breakthroughs in multiple cold cases Tuesday morning, which they say came from the help of collaboration with students from a local university. In the span of three months in 2002, three women were found dead along different Illinois roadways. They were believed to be victims of serial killer Maury Travis.
