IIT Kanpur launches cybersecurity degree, admission via JEE Main and Hackathon

IIT Kanpur has launched a Bachelor of Cybersecurity programme from the 2026–27 session. The course drops JEE Advanced and adds a skills-based admission route with a hackathon.

The four-year course has been designed with a combination of academic training and practical experience. Students will spend the first two years on campus studying cybersecurity concepts. Remaining two years will be devoted to internships with government security organisations.
