The changes to the supply chain law have taken the next hurdle: the EU Parliament in Strasbourg gave the green light. In the future, the requirements will only apply to a few large companies and will come later than planned.
The EU Parliament has loosened its supply chain directive. Companies have fewer reporting obligations, and the rules are supposed to apply one year later than planned.
In the future, only companies with more than 5000 employees and an annual turnover of at least 1.5 billion euros will be covered by the EU supply chain law.
The European Parliament will vote in Strasbourg on Tuesday (from 12.30 p.m.) on a weakening of the EU supply chain law. Members will decide on amendments to the law to apply to fewer companies and to impose less stringent rules.
