A winter storm watch has replaced a flash freeze warning over Winnipeg and parts of southern Manitoba.

Environment Canada has issued a flash freeze alert for the City of Winnipeg and much of southern Manitoba. A rapid drop in temperature is expected this afternoon, causing wet or slushy surfaces to freeze quickly, creating hazardous conditions on roadways and sidewalks.
