ENGLAND, JUL 20 – England will host the World Test Championship finals through 2031 due to its proven event management and ability to attract large crowds, with over 109,000 attending the 2025 final, ICC said.
- On Sunday, the International Cricket Council awarded hosting rights to the ECB for the 2027, 2029, and 2031 World Test Championship finals, meeting in Singapore.
- Despite the BCCI’s push to host, the ICC reaffirmed England’s successful track record in hosting recent finals, citing logistical and operational reasons.
- Past editions took place at the Rose Bowl in Southampton in 2021, The Oval in 2023, and South Africa defeated Australia at Lord’s in 2025.
