Glasgow Actor Iain Robertson Tells Court Woman 'Initiated Sex'
Robertson denies seven charges as prosecutors withdrew one mid-trial, while the court heard allegations involving four women over 16 years.
On Thursday, actor Iain Robertson appeared at the High Court in Glasgow to deny seven charges of rape and assault spanning 2004 to 2020, after prosecutors withdrew an eighth charge on Wednesday.
Robertson testified regarding a 2007 Lake District incident, denying rape claims and asserting the woman "initiated" sex after a disagreement over a "puerile" game involving a swear word he was "made clear" not to use.
Addressing further claims, Robertson denied assaulting a woman in 2014 or behaving in a "controlling" manner, though the 45-year-old admitted alcohol was an "underlying issue" throughout the charged period.
Before Lady Drummond, the trial continues as Robertson also refuted claims he poured wine over a woman's coursework during an earlier incident.
The former River City star told jurors he is "no angel" but firmly denied attacks against four women, with proceedings determining the validity of these long-standing allegations.
