The Iberia parent company, the holding company IAG, has created a subsidiary for the maintenance of engines and will focus its activity in Madrid. La Muñoza’s workshop will thus welcome 70% of the engines that will be on the market in 2035. It is LEAP engines, used in short- and long-range aircraft with a single corridor, such as the Airbus A320neo and the Boeing 737 MAX.

Iberia strengthens its maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) division. Along with the air group to which it belongs, IAG has reached an agreement with the manufacturer of these CFM International engines to obtain the license that covers LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B engines, which use single corridor aircraft.
