Ivan Tomic (Belgrado, 1976) returned last weekend to Vitoria-Gasteiz to take part in the homage to the historic staff of that Deportivo Alavés runner-up of the 2001 UEFA Cup. A quarter of a century later, the Serbian midfielder with a past in the ranks of the Glorious, Partizan, Rome and Rayo Vallecano met again with companions, memories and a city that, he admits, still occupies a special place in his memory.
