I enjoyed The Lone Ranger as much for the music as for its exciting plots
The Lone Ranger provided my first exposure to classical music. In the early ’50s our family did not own a television set, so my father and I followed the daring adventures of the masked rider of the plains on our old Philco radio. Each episode featured the stirring music of The William Tell overture, followed by a cry of”Hi, ho Silver”. A fan of westerns from a tender age, I enjoyed The Lone Ranger as much for the music as for its exciting plots.
