Hyperliquid recovered almost entirely the open interest it had before the collapse of October 2025, while HYPE reached a historic peak of $89.53. The rebound, however, reveals a major change: recent growth comes less and less from HIP-3 and more from the central route of perpetual contracts, which allocates about 97% of its commissions to repurchase the token.
Hyperliquid's open interest surged to $14.3 billion on Sunday, approaching the level seen just before last year's massive crash. The exchange's native token, HYPE, hit an all-time high of around $89.6 this week. HYPE has gained over 50% in value since the beginning of the month.
