Telangana Rising Delegation Secures Global University Tie-Ups to Boost Hyderabad as Knowledge Hub
The plan includes offshore campuses, executive education and research centres as Telangana seeks to build India’s first and largest global knowledge hub.
The University in London, a federation of 17 independent institutions, and Northeastern University, Boston, will establish their first offshore campuses in Hyderabad, positioning the city as a leading destination for international academic collaboration.
On Monday, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy reviewed his recent tour of London and the Boston area with senior officials to advance these educational partnerships, aiming to transform the region into a leading global knowledge center.
Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute, and Oxford University are exploring research centers and executive education programs in the region, while the London Business School, Cambridge University, and Imperial College London also participated in discussions with the delegation.
According to Chief Minister's adviser Ramakrishna Rao, officials will utilize the MCR-HRD Institute to host initial programs before expanding operations to Bharat Future City, with classrooms currently being redesigned for these offerings.
Virginia Tech is expected to introduce industry-aligned learning frameworks to the state, as these initiatives build on Telangana's existing strengths in software, pharmaceuticals, and aerospace to provide superior educational opportunities for local youth.
