Budapest - Hungarian authorities are investigating the disappearance of key components from eight decommissioned MiG-29 fighter jets and are trying to determine whether the components ended up in Ukraine, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) reported on its website. The station's unnamed sources said that electronics that control the aircraft's attitude and weapons systems have disappeared from the fighters.
It turned out that in addition to the police investigation, disciplinary action is also being taken against the Hungarian Armed Forces for stealing scrapped fighter jet parts from a military base.
According to UNIAN, the Ukrainian army is deploying MiG-29 fighter jets from Azerbaijan, with the spare parts being secretly supplied by the Hungarians.
