Hundreds of businesses and schools across the U.S. closed in solidarity with protests opposing ICE enforcement and recent shootings by federal agents, organizers said.
- Several downtown and neighborhood businesses in Cincinnati shuttered their doors on Friday, January 30, 2026, including Archetype Fine Jewelry and Body Piercing, Brown Bear Bakery, and Downboundbooks, joining a nationwide economic blackout protesting ICE.
- Calling for `no work, no school, no shopping`, organizers said the protest responded to increased ICE activity and the fatal shootings of Alex Pretti and Renee Good, with Pretti shot on Saturday.
- Some local businesses remained open but pledged to donate proceeds to charities supporting immigrants, while at least 200 students from La Habra High School and Sonora High School marched to La Habra City Hall.
