Huawei said its Ascend AI push has not yet matched rivals, even as cloud revenue from external customers fell 3.5% to 32.16 billion yuan.

  • On Tuesday, Huawei Technologies reported 2.2% revenue growth in 2025, reaching 880.9 billion yuan . The result marks the company's second-highest annual revenue despite slowing domestic consumer spending.
  • Performance varied sharply across segments: infrastructure revenue grew 2.6% to 375 billion yuan, while the intelligent automotive solutions unit surged 72.1% to 45 billion yuan. Cloud computing revenue declined 3.5% amid intensifying domestic competition.
  • Huawei allocated a record 192.3 billion yuan to research and development in 2025, representing 21.8% of revenue. The company invested heavily in software and chips to mitigate effects of ongoing United States sanctions.
  • Net profit rose 8.6% to 68 billion yuan for the year. Rotating chairwoman Meng Wanzhou said the company navigates a future "full of uncertainty" while cultivating its developer ecosystem.
  • Huawei continues prioritizing its AI strategy, with its Ascend ecosystem surpassing 4 million developers by year-end. The company faces intensifying pressure as domestic competitors expand cloud and AI service offerings.
