Taipei, May 7 (CNA) Incumbent head prosecutor of the Supreme Prosecutors Office Hsu Hsi-hsiang (徐錫祥) will take office as acting prosecutor-general on Friday, according to the Ministry of Justice (MOJ), after his nomination for the official position was rejected by the Legislature two days earlier.
Hsing Tai-chao, the Prosecutor General of the Supreme Prosecutors Office, had his term expire on July 7. President Lai Ching-te had previously nominated Hsu Hsi-hsiang, the Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme Prosecutors Office, to be the new Prosecutor General, but this nomination was rejected by the Legislative Yuan.
