Russia's Wagner group conducting sabotage operations in Europe: Intelligence officials
Western intelligence reports that Wagner-linked networks recruit vulnerable Europeans for sabotage, with 145 incidents tracked since 2022, including arson and surveillance operations.

The Wagner Group is used by the Russian security service GRU to recruit people who can commit sabotage in Europe. Last year, three British men were convicted of arson against a warehouse with emergency aid to Ukraine. Recruitment attempts may also take place in Sweden, according to intelligence expert Tony Ingesson. “It cannot be ruled out,” he says.
