How a racehorse owner fired off a boozy message, and was proven wrong in front of the King

Last year, prominent owner Rod Lyons made a rare slip-up by telling the trainer of Australian mare Asfoora that taking it to Royal Ascot was a ‘waste of time.’ He was made to look foolish when Asfoora won the race. Now, the mare fares as a favourite to claim the King Charles III Stakes race for a second time, which would put it in rarefied air. The race takes place Wednesday evening Australian time.
