If housing associations don't receive significantly more funding, they won't be able to build the hundreds of thousands of homes they've agreed to. The Dutch Housing Association Authority (Aw) warned of this in an advisory report to the cabinet. It estimates that housing associations are short €19 billion. The authority sees three options: more government funding, higher rents, or fewer new homes and sustainability improvements.
