House passes bill requiring agencies to report noncitizen data to election officials

The Kansas House has  approved a bill requiring state social service agencies that provide public benefits to Kansans to report noncitizen beneficiaries to the secretary of state to help ferret out illegal voting. The House voted 87-37 on Wednesday to approve legislation that would only apply to state agencies that are required to give voters the opportunity to register to vote under the National Voter Registration Act.
