SAN JUAN – Puerto Rico’s House of Representatives passed House Bill 277, a bill filed by Tatiana Rep. Pérez Ramírez, seeking to stop the imposition of fines and the prohibition on the use of single-use plastics established by Law 51-2022. The legislation stops, until December 31, 2026, the application of penalties that reach up to $5,000 for infringement, directly affecting small and medium-sized traders.
