WASHINGTON - U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Mike Johnson said on Tuesday he does not think the U.S. Congress should consider sanctions on Russia until after President Donald Trump's 50-day deadline for Moscow to end the war in Ukraine.
Last week, the President of the United States made clear demands on Russian leader Vladimir Putin: to accept a ceasefire before the beginning of September, or to face further economic sanctions, including tariffs on countries trading with Russia under West sanctions, probably China and India, which feed the Russian economy with their oil purchases.
