Trespass incident causing disruption to rail services through Suffolk
Rail officials report delays of up to 15 minutes as emergency responders address a trespass incident on the network.
On Monday, Greater Anglia warned that "Due to a trespass incident at Romford trains have to run at reduced speed on all lines," with disruptions expected until 8:15 PM.
This marks the second disruption today, following an earlier trespass event between Needham Market and Stowmarket in Suffolk that delayed Greater Anglia services across Essex and London.
Affected routes include services between London Liverpool Street and Norwich, Ipswich, Clacton, and Braintree, while passengers delayed by 15 minutes or more may be entitled to compensation through the Delay Repay scheme.
Passengers are urged to check live departure boards and service updates before travelling, as commuters heading to Colchester, Manningtree, Witham, Chelmsford, and Shenfield face ongoing delays.
Greater Anglia and Network Rail have apologised for the ongoing delays, noting that emergency services are en route to the Romford location to resolve the trespass situation.
