B.C. Lions Running Back Zander Horvath Has Two CFL Touchdown Records in His Sights
Horvath leads the CFL with 16 rushing touchdowns and 19 combined scores, putting two single-season records within reach.
With four regular-season games remaining, Zander Horvath is nearing Pringle's league-record of 19 rushing touchdowns and Stegall's single-season mark of 23 combined scores.
As the Lions' short-yardage quarterback, Horvath has garnered additional scoring opportunities this season, leading the CFL with 16 rushing touchdowns and 19 combined scores.
Fifth in CFL rushing with 751 yards, the former Los Angeles Chargers player has 24 receptions for 229 yards; Lions head coach Buck Pierce called him a "complete running back."
Buck Pierce noted that while Horvath is "extremely deserving," the Lions' ultimate goal is to "get to the Grey Cup and win it."
If he averages 63 yards rushing over the final four contests, Horvath could crack the 1,000-yard plateau for the first time since high school.
