Hormel Foods Sales, LLC Issues Voluntary Class 1 Recall of HORMEL® FIRE BRAISED™ Products
Hormel Foods recalled FIRE BRAISED snacks due to contamination risks, affecting nine states including California and Texas, posing a Class 1 health hazard to consumers.
- This week, Cabot Creamery recalled its Cabot Sea Salt Caramel Cheddar Popcorn packaged in 6-ounce bags, lot 2519907B1, with a sell-by date of July 15, 2026.
- After customer complaints, the third-party manufacturer Jody's Inc. notified Cabot Creamery about peanuts found in snack bags, prompting the recall under The Farmer Companies' licensing agreement.
- Jody's Inc. distributed the affected snack to warehouses in California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, North Carolina, Oregon and Texas, placing the product into multiple regional supply chains.
- So far, no illnesses have been reported, and consumers are advised not to eat the product and may return it to their place of purchase for a full refund.
- The recall covers 12 states and was described as due to a 'life-threatening' allergen; Cabot Creamery said the popcorn was not produced in its facilities and no other products are affected.
