Honda recalls more than 880,000 cars due to a problem with rear suspension components
Honda says just 1% of the recalled SUVs have the defect, and dealers will inspect and repair rear subframe components for free.

- The recall affects certain 2016-2022 Honda Pilot, 2017-2023 Ridgeline, 2019-2023 Passport, and 2014-2020 Acura MDX models sold across Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.
- Honda estimates the defect affects just 1% of the recalled vehicles. The company has reported no injuries, deaths, or warranty claims related to the rear suspension issue.
- Starting today, owners may search their Vehicle Identification Numbers on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration website to verify if their vehicle is affected by the recall.
- Dealers will provide free subframe inspections and install reinforcement kits or replace components at no cost. Official notification letters are expected to be mailed to owners on July 7.
